It is time once again for applications to the Common Faculty Professional Development (CFPD) fund.  The application deadline is April 5, 2013.

The fund allows for full-time or part-time paid release from normal duties.  A full-time leave can range from one week to six months, while a part-time leave can be up to one year.

Approved leave activities include:

Relevant studies at an appropriate institution, professional research or non-directed study,

Assuming, with another institution, agency, business, or industry, a position in a field related to the College appointment held by the faculty member,

Travel and visitations for studies of particular relevance to the faculty member’s College appointment

The CFPD Handbook and application form are available here.

The CFPD is a fund negotiated at the Common Bargaining Table several years ago.  It is equivalent to 0.6% of the total of faculty salaries.

If you have any questions about how to apply for this fund, please free free to contact Norma Sherret (, Faculty Development Coordinator, at any time.
