CORFA AGM to be held on April 11, 2013

CORFA's AGM will be held on Thursday, April 11.  The location of the meeting is ABC Country Restaurant, 1601 Cranbrook Street North, Cranbrook. The meeting will start 5pm (and ending by 7pm).  Members from the regional campuses are especially welcome; travel costs can be reimbursed by CORFA. A roast beef dinner will be served.  A vegetarian meal option is available.  Members are requested to RSVP to Ben Harrison (bharrison@cotr.bc.ca) by 5pm on Friday, April 5. Call for Common Faculty Professional Development Fund Applications

It is time once again for applications to the Common Faculty Professional Development (CFPD) fund.  The application deadline is April 5, 2013. The fund allows for full-time or part-time paid release from normal duties.  A full-time leave can range from one week to six months, while a part-time leave can be up to one year. Approved leave activities include: Relevant studies at an appropriate institution, professional research or non-directed study, Assuming, with another institution, agency, business, or industry, a position in a field related to the College appointment held by the faculty member, Travel and visitations for studies of particular relevance to the faculty member's College appointment The CFPD Handbook and application form are available here. The CFPD is a fund negotiated at the Common Bargaining Table several years ago.  It is equivalent to 0.6% of the total of faculty salaries.
